<p>A USB port¹ gives you the freedom to make your own entertainment choices. Plug your iPod^&reg; or even a music-loaded flash drive directly into this USB port to hear your favorite tunes, manage your playlists through the stereo controls and charge your iPod as you drive. <p>As its name implies, the Convenience Package includes features that can add a great deal of convenience to all your Avalanche^&reg; travel routines. <p>Avalanche^&reg; does look like fun, but it's built for hard work, too. It offers plenty of hauling power, and the addition of the Heavy-Duty Trailering Package provides even more trailering capabilities &ndash; more than enough for towing big items such as a boat. The Heavy-Duty Trailering Package includes the following:</p><ul> <li>3.42 rear axle ratio</li> <li>External transmission oil cooler</li> <li>Engine oil cooler</li></ul><p>It also includes a 2-speed active transfer case on 4WD models.</p><p>On LS and LT models, requires the available Texas Edition and Regional Value Package.</p>

<p>Avid 4WD users typically need both a lot of traction and a lower range of gears for climbing steep hills and doing serious pulling. Working closely with the drivetrain and wheels, the active Autotrac^&reg; transfer case will send more power to the front or rear axle automatically, depending on the driving conditions. This 2-speed transfer case also offers a lower gear range, ideal for the most demanding off-road requirements, and its rotary controls include a neutral setting for dinghy towing.</p><p>It requires 4WD models and is included with the Heavy-Duty Trailering Package. On LT models, it is required with the Off-Road Suspension Package.</p>

<p>Bluetooth^&reg;1 for phone helps you stay in touch at all times, safely and effectively. Bluetooth capability lets you connect select phones to your Avalanche^&reg; hands-free calling system, allowing you to maintain complete driver control when making or receiving a call. It connects your cell phone to the vehicle audio system using the intuitive HMI (Human Machine Interface) and includes specific steering wheel controls.</p><p>¹ Go to gm.com/bluetooth to find out which Bluetooth phones are compatible with the vehicle. </p>

<p>Choosing body-colored exterior components brings all major exterior Avalanche^&reg; features into the same color space for an eye-pleasing look.</p><p>On LS models, these components require the Convenience Package and exterior color Black, Sheer Silver Metallic or Mocha Steel Metallic; on LT models, they require the rearview camera system and exterior color Black, Sheer Silver Metallic or Mocha Steel Metallic; and on LTZ models, they require exterior color Black, White Diamond Tricoat, Sheer Silver Metallic or Mocha Steel Metallic.</p>

<p>Pick your source and play with this AM/FM radio with CD player and MP3 playback. The included USB port¹ connects to your MP3 player. The AM/FM stereo includes 36 cross-band presets, seek-and-scan, digital clock, auto-tone control, automatic volume and Radio Data System^&reg; (RDS).2 It comes with TheftLock^&reg; for added security. <p>The 2011 Avalanche^&reg; offers an all-encompassing approach to safety. Inflatable head curtain air bags¹ deploy inside the vehicle in an accident on the side of the vehicle that is struck. They're designed to help reduce the risk of head and neck injuries to front and rear seat outboard occupants in certain side-impact collisions. On Avalanche, these air bags feature a rollover sensor.</p><p>¹ Head Curtain Side Air Bags are designed to help reduce the risk of head and neck injuries to front and rear seat occupants on the near side of certain side-impact collisions. Always use safety belts and the correct child restraint for your child's age and size, even with air bags. <p>The available rearview camera system can project images onto the rearview mirror display, making it simpler to maneuver while backing into loading areas, or to help align your vehicle's hitch with the trailer more easily. It is not available with AM/FM stereo with MP3 compatible CD/DVD player and DVD-based navigation or with AM/FM stereo with MP3 compatible CD player and multimedia navigation.</p><p>On LS models, requires available Convenience Package. </p><p>On LT models, it includes the rearview camera system.</p>

<p>Your Avalanche^&reg; comes standard with 17 aluminum wheels. They feature an attractive rectangular 5-spoke design with aluminum lugs and center caps with the Chevy&trade; bowtie logo.</p><p>On LT models, touring all-season, blackwall tires are required, and these wheels are not available with the Z71 Off-Road Suspension Package.</p>

Equipped with heated power-adjustable, manual-folding mirrors, Avalanche^&reg; helps keep your view clear of fog and ice. The mirrors' heater activates with the rear defrost, helping to minimize the need to wipe or scrape surfaces &ndash; a great convenience feature during inclement weather. Adjust your outside mirrors at the touch of a button, and fold them in manually when needed such as when parking in crowded structures or squeezing past tight spaces.

For added traction and better capability in a variety of on- and off-road conditions, Avalanche^&reg; features a heavy-duty locking rear differential. It helps your vehicle power through the toughest terrain by keeping the rear wheels moving together. On LS, requires available Texas Edition or Regional Value Package.

For additional storage for valuables and smaller items, the center floor console makes the perfect traveling companion. It also boasts two strategically placed dual cup holders which offer additional convenience for both the driver and front passenger. Integrated second row audio controls let you give entertainment control to the back seat. Featuring wood grain covered forward storage on LTZ models.

Park with added confidence in your Avalanche^&reg; thanks to Ultrasonic^&reg; Rear Parking Assist. While the vehicle is in Reverse, specially mounted sensors in the rear bumper emit audible warning tones, alerting you to potential hazards behind you. As you move closer to the obstacle, the tones sound closer together. On LS models, requires available Convenience Package.

Ready to get away from the beaten path and take it off-road? So is Avalanche^&reg;, especially when equipped with 4WD. The standard Vortec^&reg; 5.3L V8 engine with Sequential Fuel Injection (SFI) pulls 320 hp from its aluminum block, along with 335 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with Active Fuel Management^&reg; &ndash; the ability to deactivate four of the eight cylinders to conserve fuel, then seamlessly bring them back when conditions demand to give you the power you need &ndash; as well as E85 FlexFuel capability.¹ Running on FlexFuel, a combination of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, the Vortec engine delivers even more power: 326 hp with 348 lb-ft of torque. Rear seat occupants have control of their listening environment with this feature that includes&nbsp;two rear headphone jacks (headphones not included), a power outlet and controls for volume, station selection and additional media. On LS, this feature is not included when 40/20/40 split-bench&nbsp;front seat is&nbsp;ordered.

StabiliTrak^&reg;Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control helps keep you on the road and in control. The StabiliTrak control module compares your steering input with the vehicle's response and, if necessary, makes small, individual brake applications to keep you on track. The system automatically intervenes when it senses understeer (plowing), oversteer (fishtailing) or loss of lateral traction. In these situations, the system applies brake pressure and, if necessary, adjusts engine torque to help you get the vehicle back on track.

Thanks to this package, Avalanche^&reg;&nbsp;is equipped for a quiet, smooth, on-road experience.&nbsp;It is not available with the Z71^&reg; Off-Road Suspension Package on LT models.

Trailering equipment adds even more versatility to your Chevy&trade; Avalanche^&reg;. It includes a trailer hitch with a 7-wire harness with independent fused trailering circuits mated to a 7-way sealed connecter to quickly and easily connect signal or brake lights. Plus, with this package, Avalanche comes equipped with a 2 towing receiver.

When it's hot outside, a comfortable temperature inside your vehicle is key. Avalanche^&reg; delivers it with a dual-zone manual climate control system. Both driver and front passenger can select individual climate settings. You and your front passenger can travel in optimum driving comfort, even if your preferred temperatures differ. When you order bucket seats, you'll have air conditioning outlets in the center console.

The remote vehicle starter system operates from up to 195 feet away and gives you long-distance climate control by heating or cooling the interior to your preset specifications. For added safety and convenience, it includes Remote Keyless Entry for locking or unlocking your vehicle. This feature requires available Convenience Package on LS.
